City officials agree to study lime disposal options

Excelsior Springs is examining how it should dispose of lime from its water treatment plant. Per approval by the City Council June 21 at the Hall of Waters, the city has hired Lamp Rynearson to conduct a best professional judgment (BPJ) analysis regarding the issue.

Wyman power plant demolished

Dehn Demolition razed the Wyman power plant early this week and cleanup is underway. On June 6, the City Council approved Dehn’s $24,400 bid to level the plant, located in the 100 block of Dunbar sitting southwest of the Wyman School.
A HOLE is all that remains of the 109-year-old power plant that once provided heat to Wyman School. Dehn Demolition razed the building after it had been deemed unsafe by city officials. Wyman itself remains standing. BRIAN RICE | Staff
