Excelsior Springs is examining how it should dispose of lime from its water treatment plant. Per approval by the City Council June 21 at the Hall of Waters, the city has hired Lamp Rynearson to conduct a best professional judgment (BPJ) analysis regarding the issue.
Dehn Demolition razed the Wyman power plant early this week and cleanup is underway. On June 6, the City Council approved Dehn’s $24,400 bid to level the plant, located in the 100 block of Dunbar sitting southwest of the Wyman School.
The Excelsior Springs School District has set its fiscal year 2023 budget. Overall, that budget is projected to be in the black, according to Travis Hux, district superintendent.
The Excelsior Springs School District has released its revised free and reduced-price policy for the 2022-23 school year. This policy is for school children unable to pay the full price of meals served in schools under the National School Lunch Program and the School Breakfast Program.
Dr. Steve Houck has resigned from his position on the Excelsior Springs Board of Education so that he may serve as a science teacher at the high school.
