Chamber secures Webb for Waterfest after initial no-go

Sam Webb, now in his second season in pro football with the NFL franchise the Las Vegas Raiders, will be the grand marshal for this year’s parade, scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m.

Prevention, intervention and protection are the principles behind the Clay County Juvenile Office (CCJO), which now offers community programs through the Dispute Resolution and Family Court division. Delinquency Unit Office Staff Jeanetta Belfonte and Connie Bell of the CCJO explained there are several programs available which the community can utilize.

Annual Wine Festival sips into summer

The 17th Annual Wine Festival was deemed an “absolute success” by Carrie Karr, a member of the festival staff. After a walk down Lover’s Lane in East Valley Park, guests were able to sample 85 various wines from 20 Missouri wineries while listening to live music performed by the Brody Busters Band.

Events planned in celebration of Parks, Recreation Month

The Excelsior Springs Parks and Recreation and Community Center will host events for youth and families in July to celebrate Parks and Recreation Month. Excelsior Springs Parks and Recreation and Community Center’s Youth and Family Coordinator Kyria Hood explained that in 1985 Parks and Recreation Month was nationally recognized through the National Recreation and Parks Association.
