Body Kelsey Coleman will have a fellow Tigerette joining her when she leaves Excelsior Springs High School for William Jewell College. As The Standard reported March 31, Coleman recently signed a letter of intent to dance and study at the Liberty-based NCAA Division II school.

Body Colson Moore had the right stuff when he pitched in relief Tuesday night for Excelsior Springs against visiting Willard.

Body Finally, the Excelsior Springs varsity boys tennis team gets to stay home for a while. As of this writing, the Tigers were slated to begin a slate of six home duals and a home tournament, starting with Tuesday’s meeting with Harrisonville.

Body Excelsior Springs had 11 champions to show for its first varsity track and field meet this season. Competing on March 30 at the Chillicothe Early Season Invitational, the Tigers won seven boys events and four girls events.

Body Excelsior Springs was seeking to return to the win column in varsity girls soccer when this week started. Entering Tuesday’s home meeting with Independence-based Van Horn, the Tigers were 1-3 with a two-game losing streak.

Body Excelsior Springs broke even for the first week of varsity girls soccer. The Tigers went 1-1, falling 2-1 to Mid-Buchanan March 21and downing Raytown 3-0 March 23.

Body Another Tigerette will continue to dance after high school. Excelsior Springs senior Kelsey Coleman recently signed a letter of intent to be a part of the dance team at William Jewell College in Liberty, where she’ll major in psychology.

Body On March 19, Excelsior Springs put the finishing touch on its varsity boys basketball season. That night, the Tigers held their end-of-season banquet at the high school, with coach Chad Wright giving out multiple awards.

Body On March 25, Excelsior Springs’ season-opening homestand ended. Excelsior Springs’ season-opening winning streak, however, did not end.
