Some Excelsior Springs bowlers will soon get to test their skills against the state’s top high school club bowlers. On May 6, seniors Joshua Oldham and David Falconer, juniors Colt Bowman and Olivia Smith, sophomore Brody Hurla and freshman Quinlynn Davis will compete in the Missouri PBA Pepsi High School State Tournament at Oasis Lanes in Union.

ES softballer signs with MCC-Maple Woods

Another Excelsior Springs softballer is taking her game beyond high school.

Senior Daelyn Williams has signed to continue her athletic career and education at Metropolitan Community College-Maple Woods in Kansas City.

Other schools Williams considered included North Central Missouri College in Trenton. She chose MCCMaple Woods because she could live at home and have a short commute, she said.

Excelsior Springs’ late-season winning streak in varsity boys basketball got cut short. After finishing the regular season with a win to snap a six-game losing streak, the Tigers opened the Class 4 District 15 Tournament by edging Northeast of Kansas City 53-47 Feb.
