Gary Dean Tackett Jr. waived arraignment and entered a plea of not guilty to several felony sex crimes during a hearing at Clay County Courthouse on June 23, before Seventh Judicial Circuit Court Judge David Chamberlin.
Webb leads the way in Waterfest Parade

Sam Webb, no doubt, has been called upon at times to lead during his football career. On June 24, the Excelsior Spring High School graduate and current Las Vegas Raider was a leader in a different way: He led the other entries for the Waterfest Parade in downtown Excelsior Springs as the grand marshal.
Stott recovers, back to protecting ES citizens

Coming back to work following a traumatic on-the-job experience can be daunting. But thankfully, Excelsior Springs Police Officer Andrew Stott did not have to face the journey alone. Thanks to his team, local residents, as well as numerous hospital visits, surgeries and physical therapy appointments, he is back protecting the city he loves.

Thomas Michael Bailey, 32, of Warsaw has been arrested for violating a court-ordered bond condition after being released on his own recognizance.
Bailey, who is now being held without bail, is ordered to appear at 10:30 a.m. July 5 at 10:30 a.m. for a plea or trial-setting hearing.
