Body HIGGINSVILLE – For the second straight season, the Excelsior Springs varsity girls basketball team took fifth at the Husker Classic. And for the second straight season, the Tigers edged a familiar foe to win the fifth-place game: Richmond.

Body Annie Pearl Barbee, 82, Lawson, MO died Saturday Dec. 11, 2021.  Annie was born to Adrath Ronald Baker and Eula Johnson Baker.  Annie worked in the medical field, with her last employment with Dr T.R. Baldwin.

Body Donald W. (Duck) Anderson made his journey to be with the Lord on December 9, 2021 at the home of his daughter surrounded by his loved ones. A visitation for Donald will be held on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 from 1:00-2:00PM at Hidden Valley Funeral Home of Excelsior Springs.

Body Missouri Department of Transportation policies, at least as evidenced in Ray County, are far less friendly toward the military and veterans than promised in a state where former Gov. Jay Nixon, present Gov. Mike Parson and other political leaders seek to present a friendly face.
