Body HIGGINSVILLE – Coming off a 59-54 win over Cameron Dec. 7 at Lafayette County of Higginsville in the Husker Classic, the Tigers were looking to find a way to put two wins together in varsity boys basketball.

Body EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – On Dec. 10, the high school gym was packed, as 19 schools competed in the Excelsior Springs Girls Tournament.

Body HIGGINSVILLE – For the second straight season, the Excelsior Springs varsity girls basketball team took fifth at the Husker Classic. And for the second straight season, the Tigers edged a familiar foe to win the fifth-place game: Richmond.

Body Missouri Department of Transportation policies, at least as evidenced in Ray County, are far less friendly toward the military and veterans than promised in a state where former Gov. Jay Nixon, present Gov. Mike Parson and other political leaders seek to present a friendly face.

Body EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The city awarded $15,000 in community grants last month. The Downtown Excelsior Partnership received a $2,500 grant and two for $1,500 each.
