Sometimes people get blamed, sometimes people do the blaming. Why does it seem we are suddenly encapsulated with blaming and being blamed? Are we all just treating each other like children, or do people have a valid reason for blaming others?

The first trinkling of ink into this girl’s veins started when I became a freelance writer for The Excelsior Springs Standard and Richmond News in 2021. More recently, however, I was brought on full time and am serving as an advertising consultant.

With groundbreaking taking place in July 2022, the Excelsior Springs Community Center’s outdoor pool project continues. The project is expected to be completed in 2023.

The Excelsior Standard, Apr. 28, 2023 On April 19, 2023, Debora Lynn Cleveland, 68, of Excelsior Springs quietly passed away, surrounded by her family.

The Excelsior Standard, Apr. 28, 2023 Willa “Charlene” Wisniewski, 79, passed away on April 2, 2023, from complications of a longstanding illness.

April 21 was “a great day for Tiger track and field,” according to Excelsior Springs coach Jonah Albertson. What made the day great for Albertson was that 13 personal records were set while the Tigers competed in the Mineral Water Classic at Tiger Stadium.

In 2014, Excelsior Springs played a 13-inning varsity baseball game. In 2023, almost nine years to the day of that 11-10 extra-inning home victory over Pleasant Hill, the Tigers played a varsity baseball game that lasted almost as long.

The Excelsior Springs Good Samaritan Center recently hosted the 23rd Annual Tortoise & Hare 5K Walk and Run. Every dollar raised through registration fees went toward the Good Samaritan Center to help their mission of alleviating hunger and homelessness in the Excelsior Springs community.

Dr. Arthur Mehrhoff discussed culture and heritage associated with developing regions such as Excelsior Springs during a recent Missouri Humanities Cultural Heritage workshop held locally. A Missouri Humanities council affiliate Mehrhoff provided necessary tools and resources to help communities reevaluate cultural heritage assets to revive the community in specific ways — incorporating tourism, economic development and programming to reach broader audiences.
