The Excelsior Springs Police Department reported the following arrests handled recently by the department. Saturday, October 25 At 2:33 a.m., Kadence Barlow, 18, was arrested for conspiracy.
Zachary Thompson The Excelsior Springs Substance Abuse-Free Environment (SAFE) coalition welcomed Clay County Prosecuting Attorney and Regina Funk, treatment court manager, to discuss the use of treatment courts for those who struggle with addiction and mental health. Drug treatment courts, according to Thompson, consist of three different programs, including drug, mental health and veterans court, aimed at holding an offender accountable while maintaining justice for the victim, as well as determining specific deterrence with the person who committed the crime.

July 19, 1939 ~ Oct. 29, 2023 Loren David Jones passed peacefully in his sleep early Sunday morning, Oct. 29, 2023, at age 84. He is survived by his wife, Ann; two daughters, Shari McCauley (Kevin) and Tina Hastings (Ron); and grandchildren, Gavin, Jillian and Seth Hastings, Jackson, Stanton and Ashley McCauley.
