A new coaching era is underway with the Excelsior Springs varsity girls soccer program. Led by Brett McKenzie, who also serves as assistant coach for the boys program, the girls opened Monday with a road loss to Mid-Buchanan.
The Tigers are back on the links. Excelsior Springs opened its varsity boys golf season March 15 with the Oak Grove Tournament at Adams Pointe Golf Club in Blue Springs.

While four candidates are vying for a spot on the Excelsior Springs #40 School District Board, only two candidates will be voted in to take the seats. The candidates – Incumbent Troy Snelling, Traci White, Russell Wenz and Kristi Shewell.
Two candidates have qualified for the Excelsior Springs City Council and because there were no other candidates vying for seats, the two incumbents will keep their seats at the table. However, the matter will still appear on the April 2 ballot.
