Excelsior Springs coach Richie Marsh and his Tigers have their first dual win in varsity boys tennis this season. The win came Monday, when Excelsior Springs swept Richmond at Maurice Roberts Park in Richmond.
Jacob Schmidt was only a few strokes shy of par when he and his Excelsior Springs varsity boys golf teammates played in the Oak Park Invitational. The senior shot a 79 (+7) for his 18-hole, par-72 round at the April 8 tournament, held at the Paradise Pointe Golf Complex in Smithville.
One of the best-kept secrets that shouldn’t be a secret in Excelsior Springs is the services of the Job Corps. At a recent SAFE meeting, staff members at Excelsior Springs Job Corps Center (ESJCC) presented information about the program to inform the public.
Carmen Smith has joined the Excelsior Springs Hospital as program nurse with its Senior Life Solutions (SLS) program. “I am so excited to work with such a great team and to be able to use my expertise to help our older population with their mental and physical health needs,” stated Smith, a registered nurse for 31 years.

On April 5, Excelsior Springs’ track and field athletes took advantage of some favorable weather. That day, the Tigers competed at the Kearney Classic Invitational.
