Having regular meals with family means being able to spend time together. The Meaningful Meals media campaign associated with Parent Up and the Excelsior Springs SAFE (Substance Abuse-Free Environment) coalition explains sharing meals can lower rates of substance use and depression.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report from an unidentified caller claiming he shot multiple people who had broken into his home. With the help of Clay County Dispatch, deputies were able to answer the call, which came in at 7:30 p.m.

The Mid-Continent Public Library located at 1460 Kearney Road in Excelsior Springs will be hosting several summer events in June for children of all ages. Planned events include: • June 12 6:30-8:30 p.m.

Aside from spending time outdoors, summer camps allow children to connect with their peers and engage in recreational activities. “All are welcome at Wilderness Camp, and it is truly a place run by those who see value in it,” Director of Camp Ministries Bo Tucker said.
